The Honourable Duncan Chiu Legislative Council Member Technology & Innovation Constituency Duncan has committed himself to the development of technology and innovation in Hong Kong since early 2000’s. He is an advocate of local Tech and Innovation policies, a tech entrepreneur, a veteran investor and is often regarded as the leading figure in Hong Kong's Tech and Innovation sector. In 2022, Duncan was elected to the 7th term of the Legislative Council, representing the Technology and Innovation Constituency. Ju-Chun (JC) Ko currently serves as a Legislator-at-Large in the Legislative Yuan of Taiwan and is an adjunct assistant professor at the Graduate Institute of Networking and Multimedia, National Taiwan University. In 2012, he obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science from National Taiwan University. He then went to Keio University in Japan to serve as a postdoctoral researcher at the Graduate School of Media Design (KMD), followed by becoming the first Taiwanese participant at Singularity University. He has held the position of Taiwan AI/Web3 Growth Partner at the Dentsu Group in Japan and is also the founder of the well-known technology podcast which he continues to run tirelessly.

Originally from Korea, Yumi Ahn is a California qualifed lawyer based in Tokyo at Tokyo International Law Office (not admitted in Japan), advising web3 businesses, MNCs, VCs and startups on their cross-border transactions and general corporate matters. Yumi is a former award-winning classical pianist and a blockchain enthusiast.

Jeff Ren heads up OKX Ventures, the venture arm of world-leading cryptocurrency platform OKX. Jeff is a member of the Leadership Council of Asia for The Nature Conservancy as well as Harvard Law School. Nao Kitazawa is a versatile professional with a diverse background in entrepreneurship, investing, and law. He was the former head of Coinbase Japan, where he led the company's efforts to expand its cryptocurrency exchange operations in Japan. Currently, he is a venture partner at Eight Roads, a global investment firm focused on technology and healthcare, a board member at Kyash, a fintech company, and a board member at AnyMind Group, an international technology company listed in Tokyo Stock Exchange. Nao began his career as a lawyer at Paul Hastings, where he advised clients on various legal matters. He then worked as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley, advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and corporate restructuring. Akihiro is the head of the specialist team for the cutting-edge technology fields such as AI, IoT and bio/life science, and leads Mizuho’s investment banking business for “Innovative” startups, technology companies and venture capital funds. He has been involved in the investment banking and fund management industries for more than twenty years in Mizuho and BlackRock, and also engaged in Business Valuation, while working on business applications of data analysis and AI. Akihiro holds a lot of professional certifications such as Member of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA) and Chartered Member of SAAJ (CMA), and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the University of Tokyo.

Kunal currently manages a multi-million dollar investment company based in Singapore providing financial advisory and consultancy services. The company makes investments across multiple asset classes including fixed income, global equities, currencies and derivatives. More recently, the company has diversified into start-up investing with a focus on companies based in India, UK, South and South-East Asia. Though sector agnostic, Kunal's area of interest and expertise is SAAS companies in the HR Tech and Fin Tech spaces. In the last one year, under Kunal's leadership, the company has started diversifying into the hospitality and sports entrepreneurship arenas. He has recently entered into a partnership with the Costa Coffee family to bring a revolutionary new coffee concept to the streets of London. He is also looking at setting up a regional headquarters of the company in Dubai to focus on opportunities in the Middle-East. The company also started investing in Web 3 and blockchain in 2020. Kunal has a special interest in blockchain, having written a number of articles on the need for light-touch regulation to engender greater trust in the industry as a whole. He is a frequent contributor to business news channels in Asia whenever there is a significant development in the Web 3 and crypto space. Prior to running Apollo Singapore Investments, Kunal worked for the CEO of DBS Bank, SE Asia’s largest Bank, on a number of strategic initiatives in SE Asia in the wealth management, SME and Institutional Investor businesses. He started his career with Accenture in London where he worked as a financial services consultant in the payments and insurance verticals. Through a unique partnership with the Ministry of Education in Singapore, Kunal has also been mentoring high school and University students in Singapore since 2014. He has mentored close to 50 students with several students going on to top Universities in Asia and the United States. . Kunal has an MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School, an MA (Cantab) from the University of Cambridge and a B.Sc. (Hons) degree from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. He is an alumni board member of Harvard Business School, the Oxbridge Society Singapore and is a member of the globally-recognised YPO (Young Professionals Organisation). Kunal is married with 3 kids and in his spare time, enjoys watching movies, listening to music and watching tennis (mostly court side!).

Melody He is a Co-Founder and Partner of Spartan Group, a leading investment and advisory group with over 500mn AUM focused on Web3. She started her career as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs Hong Kong where she developed her passion for the financial markets as well working with entrepreneurs on strategic transactions. She later on founded a few tech startups and eventually found her path in the crossroads of transformative technology and finance - crypto and Web3.

Nikola Pavesic was born and raised in Croatia, studied in Italy, Switzerland and the UK where he graduated in international law and financial regulation. He started his career the public sector for the UN in Tanzania, followed by an engagement with the same organization in Japan from 2011. Counterintuitively, he started working in tech at the UN and subsequently switched to the private sector launching, running, and exiting a startup. Nikola then joined Nikkei, the world’s largest business media publisher and owner of the Financial Times, where he led partnerships at the editorial innovation bureau. He is now a Director of DevEx & Startups at Infobip, one of the few bootstrapped unicorns globally with 70+ offices globally where he launched a startup program which now works with 600+ startups and 100+ investor partners around the world.

Katherine Dowling is on the Executive Management team and is the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Bitwise Asset Management. She previously served in General Counsel, CCO, and COO roles at several financial and private equity firms, and was a co-founder, Managing Director and COO of Luminate Capital Partners, a software private equity firm in San Francisco. A Harvard Law School graduate, Ms. Dowling spent over a decade as a federal prosecutor, most recently in the Economic Crimes Unit of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California, where she worked with the FBI, SEC, IRS and other agencies to prosecute insider trading, fraud, and money laundering cases, among others. She serves on the boards of two non-profit organizations.

As a finance professional, Henry lives and breathes technology. His passion is backed by his extensive experience and track record in managing international financial institutions, including various executive positions in Citi, Standard Chartered Bank and East West Bank. “Technology is a powerful enabler. I see in it the huge potential to address many pain points in the current financial system. We are aiming to bridge the gaps between DeFi, CeFi and traditional finance.”

Norbert Gehrke is the Founder & Representative Director of Tokyo FinTech, and the editor of the weekly "Japan FinTech Observer". Norbert is also an investor & advisor for several FinTech companies with a focus on strategy & operations, as well as facilitation of Asia market entry. Norbert spent most of his career in Capital Markets, as a Managing Director in Goldman Sachs’ Technology Division, Barclays Investment Bank, and as a consultant. Richard Teng is an experienced executive with over three decades of financial services and regulatory experience. Richard joined Binance in August 2021, and has been the CEO of Binance since his appointment in November 2023. Emily Parker is an author and expert on global crypto regulation, particularly in the US and Asia. She was CoinDesk's executive director of global strategy. Mark Karpelès is an French entrepreneur best known as the former-CEO of Mt.Gox and founding member of the Bitcoin Foundation. During his career at Mt.Gox, Karpelès handled over 70% of all Bitcoin transactions at its peak in early 2014 before suffering a malicious cyber attack. In the following years, Karpelès advocated for a civil rehabilitation process, which provided users with fairer recovery terms. Since then, Karpelès has worked on his reconstitution by serving as a technology advisor to forward thinking innovations in cyber security and blockchain technology.

Sandeep Nailwal is one of the founders of the Polygon network and currently serves as the executive chairman of Polygon Labs, an international software development company that builds blockchain scaling infrastructure. In this capacity, he works closely with Marc Boiron, CEO of Polygon Labs to steward the continued growth of the Polygon ecosystem. He is widely considered as one of the best business masterminds in Web3 and has been included in the top 10 most influential people in crypto by various publications. Sandeep has played a key role in growing the Polygon protocol into a leading blockchain network and a vibrant ecosystem that is home to some of the biggest Web3 projects and global companies alike. A serial entrepreneur, Sandeep holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the National Institute of Industrial Engineering. He has worked as a consultant at Deloitte and served as the chief technology and supply chain officer at Welspun Group’s e-commerce division. All the while, Sandeep continued his involvement in the startup world, working part-time on half a dozen companies. The dawning realization came when he learned that the palatial mansion he used to play in belonged to a local aristocrat and his grandfather had been just one of the servants. For many years, the memories of that house served as fuel for his ambition and a benchmark for what was possible in this world. At the age of 12, Sandeep amused relatives by passionately insisting that one day he will build the next Facebook. That same year he started his first business: tutoring his younger classmates. Formerly from Visa and Accenture, Zhen embarked into the world of decentralized finance, blockchain and Web3 as he saw potential for innovation and progress. He is passionate about empowering users through self-custodial ownership of assets, and is a firm believer in making the process as secure, seamless and convenient as possible. Zhen built one of the first cross chain bridges (Peace Bridge), and worked on different Ethereum Foundation projects, researching off-chain scalability before culminating in the establishment of Web3Auth. Currently, he runs startup support company Next Chapter and serves as a consultant to many companies. He also serves as a part-time marketing lecturer at Globis Executive School. In 2022, he became the CEO of Blockvalue Inc. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and completed executive programs on Blockchain at MIT and AI at UC Berkeley.

2024 年 1 ⽉ 1 ⽇に AKB48 グループの海外姉妹グループ、マレーシア初の姉妹グループとしてマレーシア・クアラルンプールを拠点 とする「KLP48」が誕⽣することが発表され、KLP48の初代メンバーオーディション『KLP48 1st Generation Audition ~I shine from the Heart of Asia~』が⾏われ、最終オーディションにより選ばれたメンバー9名とAKB48やSTU48から移籍した⽇本⼈メンバー4名からなる、13名のKLP48の第1期⽣を発表。8⽉18⽇に観客2000人の前で華々しくデビュー。 海外で現存する 48 グループとしては、JKT48(2011 年活動開始/ジャカルタ)、BNK48(2017 年活動開始/バンコク)、MNL48(2018 年 活動開始/マニラ)、AKB48 Team SH(2018 年活動開始/上海)、AKB48 Team TP(2018 年活動開始/台北)、CGM48(2019 年活動開始 /チェンマイ)に続いて 7 組⽬となる。

Luis is the Founder and CEO of Mawari, a pioneering digital alchemist and entrepreneur of cloud rendering and streaming technology for interactive AR experiences. Beju Shah is Head of Nordics for the Bank for International Settlements' (BIS) Innovation Hub.
